Your IP address right now

These are the public IP and country websites get from you. Check again after connecting to SoVPN and you'll see the server's instead.

What an IP address gives away

Your internet provider gives your connection a public IP. Websites use it to tell your country, and often your city and provider too.

If that IP stays the same, ad companies can more easily link visits on different sites back to one person.

With SoVPN connected

While you are connected, sites see the SoVPN server's IP instead of yours. Move to a server in another country and the country they see moves too.

Connect, then refresh this page to confirm the IP changed.

IP check FAQ

Does this page save my IP?

No. It only shows the address on screen and keeps nothing.

The country shown isn't where I am.

IP location is based on where the provider registered the address, so it can differ from where you are. On a work network or another VPN, you'll see that network's location.

Can someone find out who I am from my IP?

Not your name, from the IP alone. Your provider's subscriber records can tie it to you, though, so hiding it on public Wi-Fi or abroad is the safer choice.
