What each plan includes
The base in Basic, extras in Plus and Pro
Basic already has the core protection: every server, WireGuard, OpenVPN and IKEv2, the kill switch, split tunneling, SoVPN's own DNS with leak protection, and the no-logs policy. None of the plans limit data or speed.
Plus adds ad and tracker blocking, malicious site blocking and Double VPN, which sends your traffic through two servers. Pro has everything in Plus plus a dedicated IP and priority support. The number of devices connected at once goes up with each plan: 6 on Basic, 10 on Plus and 12 on Pro.
Settings to start with
Leave the protocol on WireGuard and keep the kill switch turned on. Then a brief connection drop will not reveal your real IP.
Turn on split tunneling only when an app needs it. A few banking apps and local services refuse VPN connections, so you can let just those apps use your normal connection and keep everything else on the VPN. Double VPN is useful on networks you do not trust, but it is slower, so switch it off afterward.
Common questions
Is Basic enough for me?
Yes, if you mainly want encryption on public Wi-Fi and access to servers in other countries. Basic has the same servers, protocols, kill switch and no-logs policy as the other plans. Choose Plus if you want ad and tracker blocking or use more than 6 devices.
Can I use split tunneling with the kill switch on?
Yes. The kill switch protects the apps that go through the VPN. Apps you excluded with split tunneling use your normal connection, so they stay online even if the VPN drops.
Does ad blocking work in all apps?
It filters at the DNS level while you are connected, so it covers every browser and app on that device. Ads served from the same address as the page content cannot be filtered this way.
When should I turn on Double VPN?
When you want an extra layer, for example on an unfamiliar network. Your traffic passes two SoVPN servers, which makes it harder to trace but adds delay. For streaming and gaming, a single server is usually the better choice.
