From install to connected
- 1Buy a VPN plan with your SoVPN balance.
- 2Log in to sovpn.store and open the Downloads tab.
- 3Install SoVPN by following the steps in the iOS section. They will be posted there when the app is ready.
- 4Open SoVPN and paste your account token.
- 5iOS asks to add a VPN configuration. Tap Allow and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- 6Choose a server and tap Connect.
What the app shows
You get the server list, a favorites tab and a big connect button. WireGuard is fine for daily use. IKEv2 is part of iOS itself and tends to stay connected better when the signal keeps dropping, like on a train.
With Plus or Pro, ad and tracker blocking and malicious site blocking cover all apps on the phone, not just Safari. Requests are filtered at SoVPN's DNS before they ever reach an app.
Settings we suggest
Turn on auto reconnect. When the phone wakes from sleep or switches networks, the VPN comes back without opening the app. This matters most if you use airport or cafe Wi-Fi often.
If the battery drains faster than usual, keep the protocol on WireGuard. It does less background work than the others.
Fixing common problems
Not seeing the VPN icon at the top of the screen? Open Settings, then General, then VPN and Device Management, and check that SoVPN is selected. If it still fails, delete the configuration there and log in to the app again.
Low Power Mode can delay reconnecting after the phone sits unused for a long time. If the VPN is off when you pick the phone up, open the app once and it connects again.
