- 3If the phone blocks the install, give your browser permission to install apps and try again.

- 6Pick a server and tap Connect.
What the app shows
Next to the server list and protocol setting there is split tunneling per app. It lists the apps on your phone and you check the ones that should skip the VPN. The kill switch and the Plus and Pro blocking switches are on that same screen.
Add the SoVPN quick settings tile and you can switch the VPN on by pulling down the notification shade.
Settings we suggest
Open Android Settings, go to Network, then VPN, and tap the gear next to SoVPN. Turn on Always-on VPN. Add Block connections without VPN and apps cannot go online at all while the tunnel is down.
Some banking apps and delivery apps that check location reject VPN addresses. Add only those to split tunneling. Everything else can stay in the tunnel.
Fixing common problems
Phones from some brands close background apps aggressively to save battery, and the VPN goes with them. In the battery settings for SoVPN, choose Unrestricted.
If the install stops with an unknown apps warning, allow installs for the browser that downloaded the file. After SoVPN is installed you can switch that permission off again.
